RE: Want To Talk About STUPIDITY !

The San Antonio RV show has been going downhill since they broke from the boat show. Years ago it used to be the San Antonio Boat and RV show and everyone and their brother was there. When they split the local dealers started to have their own sales on the same dates as the RV show. I used to go when they were together (took all day to see everything) after they broke apart we went twice and looked at all the RVs in about an hour(not worth $8 each plus $5 for parking).

RE: Upgrading Convertor – What Size?

Input amperage for the 9260 is 9amps max at full rated output. So a 15 amp power input will be fine.

RE: Battery Drain on 2008 F-350 4x4?

What type of brake controller do you use? If it is one that plugs into the cigarette lighter for power and uses the brake pedal to apply the brakes, that will drain the battery. Remember you push on the brake petal and it turns on the trucks brake lights along with using power for the control box. You may want to connect a battery charge line from the RV to the truck, to keep the truck's battery charged.

RE: Need relay amp size for battery isolator

Another indicator how hot the relay gets is to look at the wire size going to the coil. They specify 10 awg wire for this relay. That's a lot of current. Would be nice if they specify coil resistance. That could be an eye opener. But often it's a don't care situation as the alternator is supplying the current. Sal Where did you read that?? Looking at the drawing they show 18awg wire for the coil and 10 awg for the battery. see here

RE: Need relay amp size for battery isolator

The latching relay requires a reversing 12 volt DC switching arrangement. Just wanted to let you know. Use a double pole double throw momentary switch. I does not require a reversing 12vdc to turn on or off. It requires a momentary +12vdc on the "on" side to turn it on and a momentary +12vdc on the "off" side to turn it off.

RE: ATM and card reader.

Any way. Was told last night by a bank employee. The crooks have found a new way to steel you card info, and pin. They are mounting their own card reader on selected ATMs, and as you insert your card. It reads it. So inspect the ATM before you insert your card to see if it looks like there is something extra there. Heard of this over 10 years ago and even found one on an ATM. Went to swipe my card and noticed the keypad and swipe were higher than normal so i pulled on it and the whole assembly came off revealing the true swipe and keypad. Took it over to the truck and smashed it to pieces with the lug wrench and threw it in the trash can.

RE: digital tv - response time - millisecond

The 6ms is the refresh time of the screen and the lower the number (6ms is faster than 12ms) the quicker the screen refreshes. That means that you will have less smearing and artifacts on the screen during fast motion. 0ms would be live viewing.

RE: What to do about the ceiling falling down

1995brave wrote: This is how i did mine. ceiling repair Looks good. How did you get it above the cabinets? I removed as many cabinets and walls that i could. Where i could not i used a small scrapper and pushed the material into the corners.

RE: WHAT REALLY is the difference.

We drink Bud $13.00 for an 18 pack when on sale. 9-10mpg and stay on the military base for $13 per night full hook ups. And the fishing pier is about 25 yards from the park.

RE: transmissions

W chassis had Allison, P had 4L80. Just one more reason to avoid the P chassis. What is wrong with the "P" chassis? I love mine it drives like a sports car. IF (big if) you maintain your RV properly you won't have any problems. I purchased mine used and had a white knuckle drive home with it. I went through that chassis from front to rear greasing, replacing, and adjusting everything. I can now drive it down the road one handed and semis passing me do not effect the RV at all. I also get between 9-10mph at 60-65mph depending on hills and wind.

RE: Battery Disconnect switch - Dodge Ram 1500 2x4

You could always go with the solinoid route with one of these and add S.P.D.T. momentary center off switch to control it somewhere on the dash.

RE: Is bigger better?

Probably an old Winegard "C" band dish. Just took down my old 10' from the backyard since everyone moved to digital. Did you know that "C" band was not effected by rain, fog, or wind like the new digital dishes are.

RE: What other uses do you have for your Pancake compressor

Airing up the tires in the other vehicles, air wrench, air hammer, air chisel, air nailer, air over hydrolic jack, etc. Whatever tools i can find that use air to make my life easier. Edit: Also air paint guns, good for touch up painting on the vehicles.

RE: converting to 50amp from 30 amp

The dog bone adapter is exactly what you need. It will take one leg of your 50amp service and supply your trailer with it's needed 30 amp power. A 50 amp service supplies 50amps to each leg of the hot side and since you will only be using one leg you will have up to 50amps at 120vac into your trailer, but since the trailer is only designed for 30 amps that is all it will use without popping the circuit breaker. Here is a picture of the adapter. dog bone
